Hi all I would like to ask about the difference between ophthalmologist & optician. what can I guess is ophthalmologist is a doctor specialized in treating people eyes and optician is working and making glasses and the one who check people eyes (sight)

An opthalmologist is a physician who treats eyes and can do surgery.
An optometrist is a medical professional who can measure vision and prescribe glasses and contact lenses (as can an opthalmologist). He or she cannot perform surgery but can check general eye health, such as test for glaucoma.
An optician is a person who can make and fit glasses and contacts. He or she cannot prescribe anything.
As someone who has worn glasses since age 7, believe me I know what I �m talking about! |
