Hi dear colleagues! I wanna teach a song by Cat stevents " lady d arbanville" but am little bit confused. I don t understand what the singer means by "so still " Does he mean time or the way she sleeps.
My Lady d Arbanville, why do you sleep so still?
Thanks a lot. |

He means the way she seems to sleep, but in reality she is dead. It s about a girlfriend that he missed so much, that he wrote as if she had died. I loved that song - very sad and beautiful.
You can read about it here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patti_D%27Arbanville
ps - to be still, means to not move or make a sound.

I love Cat Stevens and I love that song. Insofar as I know, Libertybelle is right. She sleeps so still because she s dead. |
