The correct sentence is:
Can Sara borrow your car?
The person receiving is the borrower.
The giver is the lender.
Sarah could lend your car to somebody else.

Thanks ! My student had extra english classes last day and the teacher corrected the right sentence with boorow your car into lend your car. I was shocked and surprised !

Well you shouldn �t lend someone else �s car... but it can happen. I left my car in my brother-in-law �s care and he lend it to his brother. Ed |

The person with the power ie the one who has the object lends it. Allah has power. The person who has no power and wants it must beg....or borrow. So I tell my students BB=beg+ borrow LL=Allah+ Lends (I hope this comment is not inappropriate) |
