I ve come across this phrase somewhere. I wonder it s perfectly okay to say:

Everyone has their share of problems.

a common phrase --yes it is perfectly okay.

The grammar police would say no, because everyone is singular and one should use "his or her" instead of "their." Using their in this context is not yet standard. I think it will be standard in ten or twenty years because it is in common usage. I have no problem with this sentence personally, but thought I d point out a possible problem.

I agree with MM and Douglas. It s tedious to be saying his or her when you can say their and convey the meaning.
