Sometimes we simply use chains. And we also call them chains. Cheers.

"chains" or "snow chains" -- "spikes" usually refers to tires that have metal spikes built into them. You can buy spikes that can be attached like chains, but they are rarely used outside of industry.

In Canada, we generally call them snow chains.
