refused : didn t want
3) I refused to accept his apologies.
a) So did I
b) Neither did I.
becomes
4) I didn t want to accept his apologies.
So what is the answer now?
We look at the negative statement or the negative word (i.e didn t/no etc).
Which is which now???
Any say from the linguistics experts?

You don t need to be an expert to sort out such things. All you need is a good grammar reference. Sophia
P.S. You look for negation in the sentence, i.e. didn t/don t/can t/ hasn t/wasn t, etc. then you use neither/nor+auxilary/modal |

Q2: I went to a movie, not for a movie. Also, it would be "to a movie" or "to the movies", not "to the movie", unless the conversation was already about a specific movie. Bruce
