How can we call a covered area where students hang around during break? I �ve found only playground but that wouldn �t be appropriate... Thanks in advance!

A general term (because it �s covered) would be a shelter.

We used to call them �the sheds � - also the place where you could keep your bike, if you had one. Depended which year (form/grade) you were in, of course - the further up the school you went, the better appointed your quarters. |
