how can i explain punctuatioin rules to the students

You can start by reading a part of a story and pausing on every full stop. Use your voice intonation to differentiate between a question and a normal sentence.

Then you can cut out punctuation marks on flashcards. split your classroom into groups and give them different texts then ask them to stick the punctuation in its right place of the sentence.
