Hi my friends, I have a new student. She is in C senior class which means she has been learning English for four years and now shi is in her fifth. Anyway, I have noticed that she has very limited vocabulary. What can I do to improve her skills? Any ideas or any books I can use?

How about Oxford Exam Excellence?
Also check out the apps for building vocabulary available on the net.

Thank you ueslteacher, I checked the book you ve recommended. I downloaded it from www.englishtips.org along with the CD but don t you think it is for more advanced students? Here in Greece they take their FCE exams after 8 years of studying English

There are tasks for lower and higher level in that book so you could focus on the lower level for the time being.

I would encourage her to read more English language books. Simply reading for fun will also boost vocabulary. :-)

Reading definitely increases their vocab and if they aren t stopping to look up every word that they don t know, they enjoy it too!
