for those who were against a RAMADHAN WISH in this forum!!!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone everywhere!
First I wish a merry chrismas to all people all over the world with no exceptions & may this year bring happiness & good fortune to everyone !Smile
Just I wonder now where are the colleagues & members who attacked my board message " RAMADHAN WISH" & claim that I ve broke the rules by posting it in this forum that is not dedicated for such messages Confused
However , I ll not do the same thing & from all my heart I wish to everyone a happy new year cause I still consider & believe that all colleagues here in this site do not only share works or ideas but share humain feelings that make us feel happy when others are .As I ve before said whether some like it or no this site is illustrating the famous saying "the world is a small village"& we here represent the citizens of this village. So may everyone be happy & achieve his/her dreams Handshake

I wouldn t start a post wishing Merry Christmas on here: it s NOT what the forum is for. However, I did add a tag to one - an interactive card and a link to the site that I feel could be used for teaching. I checked if there were Eid cards on this site, but there weren t. Maybe Muslim colleagues have something similar to offer?

My feelings are that many of us now have a winter recess/holiday, whatever you want to call it, ALL teachers in the UK for example, have two weeks holiday, so there is a bit more time for fun messages. Doesn t make them right - the place is the cafe.

Here we are on an esl site and , you know, religion is having a negative impact. Let us celebrate our common humanity and stop fussing about silly cards.

To EVERYONE having a holiday right now, may you thoroughly enjoy it. If you are like me, you really deserve it!

LOVE and PEACE and no more cards, please!

Thank you for your Chrismas wishes, but it would have been much nicer, hadn t you put them as a pay back for people who "attacked" your Ramadhan wishes. The title of your post couldn t be clearer. I don t think that people complained about Ramadhan wishes, but about wishes on this board. Every culture has some holy days and if everyone puts a wish on every holiday, people who are asking for help would loose space. Remeber when people put birthday wishes? Everyday hundreds of them. In my opinion, the forum is here to exchange teaching experience and to help collegues who need help. The caf is a special place for wishes and chat.
Have a nice day and  a nice holiday whatever religion you follow.

People are very kind, posting Christmas greetings, but please can we have no more? This is not what the eslprinatbles forum is for. The messages are now beginning to clog the forum. Some people don t know, but there is a teachers cafe for such messages and much else.

While Im here....

how can we teach our pupils coexistance if  we can t respect the other culture???
I am sorry to know that your message was attacked by some people.

I was too sorry too ,first because I swear that at that time I didn t know that there  was teacher s cafe ,second I was sorry to receive attacking messages instead of nice wishes!!!
But ,I m against making it a big problem cause it s shameful nowadays to deal with others on the basis of any cultural or religious background !Personally if anyone is happy so I feel happy for him no matter I know him/her or not !!!that s the meaning of humanity !

moemendhia, what are these attacking messages you received? Who has dealt with you on the basis of religious background ?

I assume that someone pointed out that it was against the rules, that s all. Messages of this kind go on the teachers cafe. If it was anything more than that, I think you should complain officially. It would be totally unacceptable.
