GSmileSmileD Morning Miss Cute!    GSmileSmileD Morning to you all!

When I think of portfolios, these ideas come to my mind:

- Motivation

Portfolios (may) highly contribute to effective students motivation on language learning and, therefore, to improve students communicative competence;

- Autonomy

Portfolios promote self-regulation and  higly contribute to develop learners autonomy in language learning - students take charge of their own learning, making adjustements according to their own needs;

- Competency based  approach

They promote the acquisition of a communicative competence, unlike the still so common content based approach

- Pedagogical differentiation

The use of Portefolios  (may be) is an excellent tool to  promote successful language learning, since it respects differencies, both in learning paces and abilities learning methods;

- emphasis on the process and nor only on the product

Through Portfolios we can "see" the evolution of the student over the course of the whole learning process.
...

Well, Im sure youll be able to find lots of interesting ideas. These are just a few that I find veiy interesting for discussion.

Have a wonderful day!
