Hi!
Well, I think the sentence is incorrect because you can only use any with plural countable nouns, e.g. Are there any towels in the bathroom?
Hope I ve helped :)

Well I don t think so. We say anything and not anythings , anybody, and not anybodies... Plus any comes from AN... Meaning one. It does work with uncountable singular nouns Is there any butter left? I cańt think of a reason why we couldnt say any towel... |

Well, uncountable nouns are all singular nouns that s why you can use any with them. As for countable nouns you can only use any with plural because with singular nouns you use a, e.g. Is there a towel in the bathroom?
So, the reason is the grammar rule.

Hi, there!
No, I dont think it is correct.

You can say:
Are there any towels in the bathroom? Yes. There are some on the shelf/ in the cupboard. No. I ll get you one / some. (You can ask this even if you only need one towel for yourself.)
Is there a towel in the bathroom? Yes. There s a towel hanging on the rail. / on the shelf. No. I ll get you one from the linen closet.
It is possible to ask Is there any.... but only in specific circumstances.
Is there any towel in the bathroom that isnt covered in stains? (There are towels but they are all stained. Ugh!!!)
