Passive Voice

Hello,

I d be grateful if anyone could suggest how to put the following question into the passive voice?

Who told you such nonsense?

Thank you in advance!

By whom were you told such nonsense?

In speech, a person would probably say, Who were you told such nonsense by?

Hi dear mates,

As far as the first (i.e. formal) option is concerned, I would convert this interrogative sentence into the passive voice as follows: By whom was such nonsense told you?

As for speech, I think I would rather say: Who was such nonsense told you by?

Hope this helps.. ;)

To add my too cents worth, this is my take on it and most natural sounding to a native speaker:

Whom were you told such nonsense by?

@Sharwong - I think if you are going to use whom , you wouldn t be putting a preposition at the end of a sentence. Wink
marta - go with my suggestion.
