reporting verbs

Hi, I have a doubt that has to do with reported speech. Can you help me, please?

"I wrote to him yesterday" she said. (admit)

1. She admitted that she had written to him the previous day.

2. She admitted to have written to him the previous day.

3. She admitted having written to him the previous day.

I know that number 1 is correct, but is number 2 or 3 right?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
As far as I know, the verb admit is followed by either that+a sentence or ing form, but not to +verb. So answers  1 and  2 are correct.
I hope I m to the point.

Yes, 1 and 3 are correct.

There is also the expression "admit to" + -ing, so another possibility is
"She admitted to having written to him the previous day".

I agree with Bruce. In the third sentence it seems that there is "to" missing. She admitted to having written sounds much better. At least this is how I teach in the class. Since I am not a native speaker, I would really like to hear native speakers opinions. Is there any difference between Br.E. and Am. E.? Thank you. Mattea

As a native Brit. 1 and 3 are correct.  In number 2 it should be:

She admitted to having written ......
