It �s the HINOOMETER used by Gary Cooper in the famous western HIGH NOON.
The clock counted the hours and minutes until the high noon train would leave his wife had threatened to take with or without him. (For those who are not as old a rhinoceros as I am, have a look here.

It �s an ashtray in an office. When you shake the ash into the hole, you can watch the time and understand how much time you �ve wasted. So it �s a clockash tray :)
