Hi! If you have already finished your "school years", the correct sentence should be B. It is an action you wish that could have happened before your stay in France. Anyway, let s wait for native speakers opinions. Big hugs, Alessandra |

As a native speaker I would say:
"Now I ve visited France I wish I had learned French at school." Here the person is no longer at school.

I say - "Had learned" is your only correct option (3rd conditional?)-
Also, I would say either way (at or in ) is okay, but I prefer "in" (I am talking about content --I was in the classroom).

If you are a school pupil, option a) is correct. I ve been to France and it inspired me, so I want to learn the language, but it s not offered at my school.
If you have now finished school, option b) is correct. I went to France and struggled to understand people, so I regret that I didn t learn French at school.
I also agree that "at school" sounds more natural than "in school", although "in school" is also correct.
I hope that helps. (I am a native speaker of UK English.)
