Idiomatic Passive
|
Hi there!
Does anyone know a text in which there are examples of the idiomatica passive (double object passive)? And of course if we have any suggestions of games to work with it, I would appreciate it.
Thanks in advance,

I was given a nice gift. OR A nice gift was given to me. In the examples above, there are two objects. The sentence in the active is: my father gave me a nice gift. Me and gift are both objects. He was offered the job. |

Just to add something to the excellent answer, "gift" is the direct object (the thing actually given), and "me" is the indirect object (with an implied "to" or "for"). Bruce |
