Need for help too
|
Hi dear colleagues. Unfortunately I have a doubt which is elementary I know but...
what is the best answer to the following question: " what s his job?
could it be: "he is a singer" or could we have another answer... " His job is singer" which sounds better?
Can I accept the two answers?
Thanks for your help. |

The most natural response is: He is a singer. She is a doctor. They are nurses.
Second thought - "no" to the other one. It is incorrect. It should be "He works as a doctor."

He is a singer. would be the correct and common answer. :) |

Actually, I d say that the second one isn t correct at all. It would be more natural to use an adjective- His job is difficult..etc.
You need an article before the noun.
You could say- He works as a singer, but yes as it was posted before- the most natural response would be He s a singer.

I personally would say that the first answer is the best. But as far as the question itself is concerned, we can also ask: What does he do? and we answer in the same way. ( He is a singer...)

You could say "His job is to sing.", but I wouldn t say "His job is singer."
"He s a singer." is definately the most common answer.
