Help please? Any website to study English through literature?

Hi everyone.

I am carrying out a research on the study of English through literature and I was wondering if you could help me to find a good site that I can take into account both for my study and for my daily classroom procedure.

It would be great if such website covers the main periods in English and/ or American literature, though any help will be much appreciated

Many thanks in advance.

Learning vocabulary  in context by reading  great literature is fun.

Vocabulary can be improved by  viewing websites such as http://www.literature.org/ using http://lingro.com/ .  Lingro explains all words. all words are clickable.

Lingro does not work for all sites, however. (Gutenberg collection and New York Times did not work with Lingro).
