Hi, everybody, I need some advice regarding choosing a new book for students to be used next year.I �ve been asked to give some ideas and recommendations on new teaching material for the primary school students, specifically, books from the group MacMillan that would apply for students between 6 - 10. Since I haven �t used any of the tittles that that group offers yet, I thought it would be better to ask you, since some of you might have actually already used those books and could have some useful opinions about them. Please, all comments are appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hello there,
I �ve used MacMillan 4,5 &6. I love the book. Although my school has changed to a new book, Aim High, I do believe that MacMillan is much better. A huge advantage about Macmillan is that it exposes the children to a different variety of text. They will read part of a story in a unit, another with a biography, poems, play, newsreport, etc. which enrich the language in so many ways. I loved the language building section as well. It introduces grammar on a very different level unlike most ESL books I have used. The posters for each unit is awesome and always an excellent visual to attract the kids � attention. The whole unit is coherent with a reading text leading at the end to an excellent writing plan. One disadvantage is the lack of listening and speaking exercises. All in all, Macmillan is the best English course book I have ever used.
