Word of the Day (WOD) 28 Aug 2014-?
|
Hi Everybody!
I ve been selected by Kingfant72 to carry-on the Word of the Day contest, so here s the newest word for your creative pondering:
Newest WOD: smize
Remember everyone can participate and we are not looking for the actual definiton of the word, we are looking for a "wacky" defintion of the word--soemthign that you have come-up with that might bring a smile to someone s or a sparkle to their eyes; or maybe even a definition that will stimulate the creative juices that lead to the next Harry Potter-like series or a cure for alzheimers.
Fire away!

AAAh, don t you just hate smizers? We probably all know a few; those people who don t really smile from the heart but rather carefully measure out just how far to curl their lips in order to pass as either approving, condescending or just fake friendly. A calculated well-sized smile for every occasion. |

Smize actually refers to the practice of transferring financial assets to San Marino in order to avoid withholding taxes on capital gains. Many other countries impose these withholding taxes, but not San Marino.
SM: San Marino
-ize: to make or become (in this case, the money becomes Sanmarinese).
I didn t know you were such a financial wizard, douglas! |
