I haven t been able to find an online dictionary with a definition of the above expression. Of course I understand it, but what exactly are the bageebers and how is this word pronounced? Thanks for your help!

It is bajeebers or bejeebers. Another variation is bejeezus. Both are common words used to avoid using God s or Jesus s name in vain. Bruce |

Yes, no meaning. Many other words are also common in this expression. A few of them are Scared the crap/hell/heck/living daylights out of me. Bruce |

I think it probably has come from by Jesus . Also, to add to Bruces answer, scared seven shades out of me , and in Northern English scared the shite out of me . (Sorry).
