I taught 3-4 year olds for a year but it was a class of 9 kids. I m now applying for a job to a Nursery class in a new school with 25 kids, four of them 2,5 years old. There s a range of beginners to native speakers. They have 4 teaching assistants, but 2 of them don t take part in the teaching process but just help out as nannies. They will also have another teacher coming to work for 75% of the time, so we will be splitting the class in half. The other 25% I will have to be with the kids on my own with the assistants help.
My question is could you help me with some ideas for an open lesson with 25 very young kids, which is a part of the job application process?
I know that there should be plenty of short activities with some songs, music and hands on activities. But how will I be able to organize so many kids that don t know me and might be either too shy or too naughty? The three year olds are so unpredictable...
Any ideas will be much appreciated!
