Speak English? or speak in English?

Hello dear all!!

I would like to know the difference between "speak English" and "speak in English"

I think I know the difference, but I am not sure if I am correct or if there is any other explanation.

In the following sentence, what is correct?

You shouldnt feel embarrassed when you speak English.

You souldnt feel embarrassed when you speak in English.

For me the second option is correct? Or both?

Thank you!!

Hi, Engteacher,

You shouldnt feel embarrassed when you speak English.

You souldnt feel embarrassed when you speak in English.

Both forms are correct. When you add the IN, it makes the listener aware that there is another language that he could be speaking.

The first does not imply that there is another language choice.
