On the first one I think it depends on what you want to say. This weekend, Ruba was meeting her friends in the park. (She isn �t going to meet them anymore. Plans have changed) This weekend, Ruba is meeting her friends in the park. (Plans are still on) |

I think with regards to you sentence, the correct form is: This weekend, Ruba will be meeting her friends in the park. Your sentence deals with something that is going to happen or as in the previous answer: This weekend, Ruba is meeting her friends in the park which is also correct. |
