HELP

Hi everybody

I have a doubt about rephrasing this sentence

It wasn t a good idea to punish Peter yesterday. (SHOULD)

Peter shouldn t be punished yesterday  or

Peter shouldn t have been punished yesterday

Thanks in advance

Happy week

As you are talking about a past event it would be correct to use the past form of the modal verb as well.

Have a nice week.

Definitely : Peter shouldn t have been punished.

Remember that present perfect is used to link past and present. Shouldn t be is in present and can t be used in situations that are in a past time frame, such as YESTERDAY.
Plus this situation refers to PASSIVE VOICE (Peter didnt do anything - he just "receives "  the action)
Good luck!
