Hello everybody, I �m marking tests as usual and I was wondering... referring to a total price, for example more than one cinema ticket, or the bill in a restaurant, are they both correct (or just the second one?)? 1. It �s �50 2. That �s �50 Thanks for your help, Chiara

First, the short answer is that they are both correct. I To add just a little to Lynne �s answer ( by expanding on her "Mainly..."), I would agree that what she says is the general practice, but there is some difference among people. Some will just always use "That �s" and others will always use "It �s", but the situations she cites are definitely the usual cases. Bruce |
