I m afraid I heard gaturro saying those things LOL
I ll try to get some of his own which I really have fun with.
I love Gaturo and his Brutish English
Have a nice day

Hi. I like this idea. I would like to contribute to it.
to die: to smell the violets from beneath (alulrl szagolja az ibolyt), to bite into the grass (fűbe harap), to throw his soles up (feldobja a talpt)
Relating to the colours: as red as the crab; People are yellow in Hungary if they are jealous. If somebody is very hungry we say he sees red and green .
If somebody is too young we say he has got egg-shell on his bottom or he has got green ears or he has got sour cream on his mouth .
We say: Who gets up early finds gold (instead of early bird catches the worm).

Idioms also change. Here, if I say "He lives like a dog." - It s a good life. He is fed and taken care of and doesn t have to work.
But in Canada, the same expression means - He has a bad life - probably dirty and messy and not well taken care of. |
