To me they sound interchangeable. If someone asks me,  "Where will you be staying", "Where are you staying" or "Where will you stay when you go to Paris, I may answer with either of the constructions "I will stay with my long time friend" or "I will be staying in a hotel."

Mary �s excellent examples show that the difference is insignificant.

In general, the progressive forms show some emphasis on a process happening over time. They have a tendency to bring the hearer/reader a little into the event (in a very small way).
