Help with the school vocabulary.

Could you tell me how you call in English

(1) the book that is used in school and teachers write students’ grades in?

(2) the book where teachers write the lessons’ activities in? In our language it is called “a diary” of schoolwork. How do say that in English?

Thank you for your help.

Have a nice day.

Hi aee.aee, these days, as with much else, the students grades are stored electronically in most schools. They are saved in the mark book area. Teachers write their lesson plans or notes in their planners. Some diligent teachers record the marks and the attendance in their planners, as well as electronically.

This is just in my neck of the woods, and there may well be different terms!
Hope this helps.

I m not sure "lesson planner" is what Mattea had in mind. We have a book in which we have to write what we did in that leson, who was absent etc. Like a log or something. Most schools do that electronically these days, but still.

Thank you Minka,

this is exactly what I had in mind.
Lesson plans are things we prepare in advance,
but he have a book or electronical version of a book
where we write in what we did during that lesson
(a title of the lesson or activity) and this is what I had in mind.

Thanks everybody for your responses.
