"Why I wish I was a Non-Native English Speaker"

An address from a NEST to NNESTS* everywhere. A thought-provoking post from James Taylor for the TEFL Equity Advocates: Alex * For the record, I support the position of the TEFL Equity Advocates, that native English-speaking teachers are unfairly advantaged in the TEFL/TESL/TESOL industry. I think we could do better, though, than the reduction of English-language teachers to simple binary terms such as NEST and NNEST – but it makes for useful shorthand here, I suppose. |
