doing feature on?

Hi, What does " doing a feature on " mean in this sentence : An international magazine is doing a feature on your town and wants to include information about healthy places to eat. Does it mean " to make a film " ? Best regards, :) |

Yes, since it is a magazine, writing an article is what is meant. |

Writing a "feature" article on it--this usually means the article will be one of the main articles.
EDIT: I stand somewhat corrected (as per wiki):
Feature articles are windows into the human experience, giving more detail and description than a hard news story, which typically relies on the style of writing. Features focus on an event or individual, giving the reader a chance to more fully understand some interesting dimension of that subject.
So to say--it goes into more detail on a subject. |
