A friend told me that this sentence is incorrect & can �t be considered as compound adjective & can �t apply the rule : numeral+ - +noun ; so please check with me if it is correct ,if not please could you tell me why ? thanks in advance :) -these boys are 20 years old = these are 20-year old boys .

Hi, It is correct. You can make phrases describing nouns into a compound adjective by using dashes and always in singular. A lorry of ten tons ...... A ten-ton lorry A meal of four dishes .............. A four-dish meal. |

No, it �s "twenty-year-old boys" because "old" is also part of the adjective. Bruce |
