"Team" is a collective noun and takes a singular pronoun. "It" is most acceptable in American English. |

I think that in the US, we are more likely to say "didn �t they?" I would say that either choice is correct. Bruce |

Why not put it the other way around to check... The team won. The team is great! Or... The team are great... Quite obvious... Hence, The team won, didn �t it? |

I agree with Bruce. They is most common in the US.
edit: As Bruce says below, we would say "They are great." because we are focusing on the players as people, not the team as an entity or unit.
