Hello dear friends from ESL printables, I am here asking for your help I have been assigned a task in which I have to create exercises for developing the reading strategies above mentioned. It takes a lot of time to come up with the exercises or to adapt the long readings that so far I have found. So I will be more than grateful if somebody can suggest some links. I´d really appreciate it. Thanks. |

Hi there - have a look at my printables. Reading for gist and reading for detail are two of the things I really try to push with my pupils. Theres a printable called "4 Short News Stories" which requires lots of scanning and skimming techniques and uses intermediate-level English. I also have a printable called "Reading Skills: eliciting the meaning of unknown words" which is to build pupils confidence with more complex texts. The printable "2 news articles and questions about animals" might also be useful to you. I hope they help!
