Question

Dear colleagues,

I would like to give some of my students a written award at the end of school year. Would something like this sound OK?

Congratulations on participation and good behaviour in the English class.

Congratulations on the whole year participation and good behaviour in the English class.

Is it the English class or can we say in English class (without the)?

I m looking forward to any comments and new suggestions.

Thanks a lot in advance.

I think that you should not use "the" - it should just be in English class.

If it were me I would say something like "Congratulations on having good behaviour and participating in English class." I like using the verb forms with having and participating just because to me it seems like the students performed the actions more.

Hope this helps!

I would just say in English , the same as you would say in maths in French etc....
