Would you be so kind so as to clear these doubts?
Is it correct to say "one time" as in this sentence "I �ve been to Egypt one time" or is it better to say "I �ve been to Egypt once."?
A student of mine wrote the "one time" option and I corrected the sentence but I �m not sure if my correction is valid...
And one more: Is it at the beach?
on the beach?
in the beach?
I would say either at or on the beach but I was corrected but "in the beach" doesn �t sound correct to me, am I right?

When we mention the number of times we do something, it �s better to use once, twice thrice. If it �s more than three times, you can say four times etc.
As for the other question
at/on the beach - both are correct
in the beach is incorrect |

I had never heard of �thrice�
I have always used once, twice, three times, etc
Which is the real use of this word? Is is commonly used in every day English or is it rather formal?

Thrice is correct but archaic - you would never hear this in everyday conversation or read it in contemporary print. You �ll come across many uses of the word in Shakespeare, though! (Try Macbeth, for starters. Act 4, Scene 1) |

Well, in this case I usually use " once" rather than one time.
" on / at" the beach are both correct, however " in " the beach is incorrect.

Once is correct.
I`ve never heard about thrice, but...
I think that at/on is correct.

Thrice is used in Harry Potter, but usually after twice we say 3 times.
You are never in the beach but you can be in the sand!

Hi
Thrice is correct but not commonly used. It �s like "shan �t" instead of "shall not" this abbreviated form is not commonly used but it is correct.

Sorry Ladybird (ladybug in US English),
I usually use once, twice, three times and am a US native.
I would also say both "in Egypt one time " and "in Egypt once" are okay.
"At the beach" and "on the beach" are good, NOT "in the beach"
