@Giorgi :)) Hmm. Lynne�s English is always challenging for me, too. Although my Google search gave me some help, the question is, if it is the same thing what she has meant... Definitions of lobscouse noun a stew formerly eaten by sailors, consisting of meat, vegetables, and hardtack. Sailors had various methods for making hard tack palatable, e.g. crumbling it into the dish called lobscouse .
