Are they the same? British or American English? Or there is no difference at all? Just curiosity Thanks Ana |

Choker would be something just around your neck, Necklace is rather something that is hanging / dangling from your neck especially with a pendant. Checking the offers on American and British ebay - no difference Here is an example if a choker. Best, joanna |

My mom wore a necklace with 3 strings of beads and called it a choker necklace, although it hung down. |

Thanks a million, Joanna! My doubt is now solved! When a pendant lies right in the hollow of your throat then what you have around your neck is a short necklace rather than a choker!
Thanks again and happy Christmas!

Necklace is the category, and choker is a type of necklace within the category, as is pendant. A choker is always short and close to the neck. |
