Hi,
I m the coordinator of the bilingual section of our high school in Plasencia, Cáceres. We teach some subjects in English and that s why our students level of English is quite good. We are very interested in carrying out an ambitious project for which we would like to count on an Irish or British school partner.
Our project has to do with Maths, Science and cooking. It will be a PBL (Project based learning) one, so the students together with the teachers will develop their creativity, skills and knowledge in science and maths through cooking. It can be fun, challeging and really innovative.
The language teachers have a very important role to play in this project if they want to get involved as well as the physics, chemistry, maths, technology, biology ones (not necessarily all the subjects, just a couple would be enough) but of course, the more, the better. It s a school project that can make your school stand out from the rest.
You shouldn t worry about the redtape because that part is on us and we can help you with the projects and new ideas in case you need it. We will use new technologies to carry out the project and to get in touch with our partners.
The benefits are really important: about 30 of your students and 2 teachers in total can travel to Spain and/or France for free. We have 100 mobilities for the three countries in total. All the expenses the project can entail are paid for, too.
The possibility of teaching in a different way for a European project is also important for the school and as you may know, it is highly recognised. The project lasts for two years and we have lots of time to think about how to do things and prepare our students.
On the other hand, the place where we live is really worth visiting and we are very near places like Salamanca, Trujillo, Merida, which are so beautiful that your students and you will be thrilled. Besides our students and their parents are very welcoming and open to have new friends in other countries. Only the best students would be involved in the project. There are hundreds of things we can do with the students. I have already done several exchanges that have been a real success. We are hardworking teachers who want to help our students to get more motivated (if possible) and learn things they wouldn t if they weren t given this chance and also want to give them the opportunity of visiting other countries without having to pay for it. They have proved they are good, kind, polite, responsible students who deserve our effort to make them happy.
We already have a French school which is going to take part in the project, so we only need you to start working.
.
If you think you and some of your colleagues can be interested, don t hesitate to contact me here: [email protected]
In that case I ll give you further details about the project. We need to have the names of the schools that are going to be our partners as soon as possible but then you ll have time to organise everything at you pace.
Best wishes
