Lake Superior is larger than any other lake in the world.

L.S is the largest lake in the world.

L.S is larger than all the other lakes in the world.

L.S is the largest of all the lakes.

(Is it?)

I would prefer to say:

Lake Superior is the largest (freshwater) lake in the world (by surface area).
