I have a doubt about using there īre . Is it correct to write there īre?

I use it quite often in private, but I am pretty sure it is a colloquialism--which means it īs used, but it "ain īt" proper English.
I could be wrong though.

As far as I know only the singular form can be contracted (thereīs)
