My favorite food is chocolate, but her favorite food is bones. (in general) My favorite food on the buffet table is the bones (a specific dish being referred to). My favorite foods are bones--chicken bones, ribs, T-bones, and fish bones. |

favorite vs favourite = AE vs BE Both are technically correct, just stay consistent. |
