We`ll have a Man`s Day when 50% of the population (women) own 50% of the property (currently only 1%!!) in the world, and do only 50% of the work in the world ( currently 78%) and make up 50% of the governments of the world (currently 17%) and...and...
Ahhh...still so much work to do! As you said Michael,
But today, we relax and celebrate what has been accomplished!

That �s right! It took us centuries to acquire our rights and, no matter how little our achievements have been, I still think that �s a good reason to celebrate. Just as you �ve so well pointed out, we �re still far from achieving equality in most areas but we �re getting there. Or so I hope...

Personally, I think that the reason we need to celebrate is made clear in the old joke of how many man still see women:
An English professor wrote the words, "woman without her man is a savage" on the blackboard and directed his students to punctuate it correctly.
� The men wrote: "Woman, without her man, is a savage."
� The women wrote: "Woman: Without her, man is a savage." |
