Hi there,
could you please give me some ideas about how to introduce in an entertaining way adverbs of manner to my nine-year-old students? Thanks in advance. |

Hi, You could try this: prepare a list of adverbs of manner, ie slowly, happily, etc. Ideally, print them on cards for easier use. Ask your student to read a sentence, or to answer a question. When he/she has done so, take a card and read/show it. Suppose it says "nervously". Your student now has to repeat the sentence or answer in that way, that is, with a shaky voice, biting fingernails, etc. Great fun with large groups, it can work all right for individual classes.
