Hello, Maryse s link is very good. In a nutshell, CLIL is teaching a subject other than the target language through the medium of the target language. |

You can also integrate CLIL ideas into normal foreign language lessons. The idea is to let pupils discover new facts through the medium of the target language. So rather than using superlatives to describe the tallest/shortest/fastest person in the class (they already know this), you can teach the formation of superlatives through geography (highest mountain, deepest sea etc.), biology (fastest land mammal, heaviest fish etc.) or history (bloodiest battle, king with most wives ...). |
