Shortly is usually used for time (meaning "soon"), unless it describes someone �s mood/attitude, which is less common. Bruce |

They all look correct to me. Bruce is right that there are two different ways to use "shortly".
How? / Manner: "He was angry and replied shortly to me."�This usage is less common and slightly outdated to American ears. It is often associate with the phrase "short-tempered".
When? / Time: "We will be arriving at the terminal shortly. Please fasten your seatbelts and prepare for landing."
I think most�people from the US and Canada would place "shortly" in the When? / Time category.
