Would you mind if I+verb 2 means "might it bother you if I happen to do this?" So if you say Yes, you mean "It will bother me, so please do not do that". If you wish to say it is no problem at all, you need to say "No, not at all (go on doing that)" |

a is the best answer, because it acknowledges the request. c is grammatically correct, but it only addresses that the person wouldn�t mind, when the question was really a request to use the phone, not an inquiry into the feelings of the other person. Bruce |
