communicative function

what is the communicative function of this sentence
Now we all need to be aware of hacking
is it advice , warning or obligation

It sounds like a warning to me, but more context is required to know for sure.

If this sentence was spoken in a university class for programmers and coders, it could be a sense of obligation. Perhaps the professor is introducing a segment from the syllabus or some kind of self-study assignment.

However, I think it is more likely a warning to be cautious of potential hacking. Other sentences which may have the same meaning would be "Make sure to be safe against hackers," or "Please understand that there may be attempts at hacking."
