Principal is for schools in the US and Canada for sure. I think Headmaster is British. |

Hello,
A manager works over others as a supervisor. Such as a hotel manager. on the other hand... both principal and headmaster mean the same and they are the highest position in a school. the difference is principal is used in America. Headmaster in Europe.
P.S. a madam or headmistress are the feminine of headmaster.

Hi,
in Europe we would use "headteacher" to avoid mentioning whether the person is a man or woman, you know, politically correctness.
Hope it helps |
